[Call to action] - Site Design for Vintage Computer Committee

VCC is in dire need for a new landing page for our website.

As we move forward into our second year at the Dallas Makerspace and work to achieve our main mission goals. The committee would need to reach out to schools and educational centers across the state and nation.

When we do we would like to put our best foot forward and have a great website available for students and educators to visit when they wish to learn more about our classes, instructors, and programs.

Email the committee chair or Link your designs in the comment section below. Lets try to get as many submissions as possible with the top three being featured on the channel and the best one being picked by the committee members would get a special prize.

What technologies did you use to build that page? It does not work with either of the two ā€œvintageā€ browsers I commonly use.

Opera 12.15
Safari 5.1.7

its mainly built in CSS3, HTML5, and EMCA2015.

Yeah I know not very ā€˜vintageā€™ but who the 'ell is going to run a java applet or macromedia flash mx these days?

I think itā€™s pretty cool.

but you canā€™t go into the releases directory

which browser and OS are you using?

Page doesnā€™t display properly in Chrome on iOS. Also canā€™t call the keyboard to type any commands.

Same here using Chrome 62.something on Android 7.0. Canā€™t see left side of ā€œmonitorā€ , and canā€™t tell if ā€œkeyboardā€ works or notā€¦
Nifty little page on a desktop, though!

thanks for confirming the bug reported in https://github.com/Vintage-Computer-Committee/vcc-grid-os-ui/issues/2. A volunteer for the committee has picked up the issue and a patch is in development.

Weā€™re also welcoming the membership at any time to submit Pull Requests to help improve the site.
