Is someone working on fixing the issue/bug with the calendar?
When a student decides to cancel the spot does not open up for another students to take that spot and fill the class. Our only option at this time it to post on Talk and not all new members have a Talk ID or want one.
I hear in our area all the time that there are not enough classes and folks can’t get into classes, but classes are not being filled due to cancellations. Also with distancing restrictions we need to limit the number of students per class. We are in a no win situation unless this bug is addressed.
I know the group knows all about this issue but I haven’t heard if the bug is being looked into or fixed anytime soon. Could we please get an update or some information on this one?
I’m running into this bug with my Bad Caps class, and there are a ton of people on a Facebook group who are clamoring for spots. Any chance I could look at the code and maybe make a PR to get it fixed (not by tomorrow, but perhaps by next time)?
Ok, I’ll have a look at GitHub - Dallas-Makerspace/calendar and find out where to make the enhancement. I’d also like to enable alphabetization of the Attendance list – this would be useful since massive online classes list everyone alphabetically and taking attendance would go a lot faster There was possibly a third enhancement I thought of, but now can’t remember what it is…
There should be a docker compose to start up a development environment. I remember I had to make some changes to the DB script last time I tried starting up one, but didn’t get much farther than that. Thanks for taking a look!
