Would there be any problems with us building a raku kiln? Thinking the firings would have to be done on a Sun outside.
Is there a hose coupling out there?
As it is getting cooler weather, my mind turns to raku.
If not, can we work something out with the guy at Trinity that has offered to let us fire at his home (near Bush or Beltline and 35?
I would think someone would have to be with the kiln while it’s outside, otherwise neighbors or whoever may mess with it. Also, there is no hookup for water outside the building.
Then we need to plan on water cans also—maybe have everyone firing something bring 2 watering cans or is there any hookups inside that hose could run to in the workshop.
I have seen folks do it at shows without a water hose.
Someone would have to stay with it, but that is not hard, depending on the size kiln we make.
I am thinking a fairly smallish one to start. One problem with a smaller kiln is the need for a smaller Venturi burner, but we have folks that could help us make one. I have considered it myself, but doubt some of my skills
