Techtronics owns Ryobi, Ridgid, and Milwaukee. For whatever reason, they put Ridgid pricing right in the middle, but spec’d design, performance, and quality at the 80% of Milwaukee part. All I know is, I see a lot of contractors with Ridgid in their toolkit now. Damn shame that the Milwaukee battery form factor isn’t compatible with Ridgid. Lots of guys who can’t afford another red tool would probably at least buy an orange tool if they could share batteries. I know I’d buy more red tools if I could use all my orange batteries on them.
If I had more dolla, I’d pick up some Ridgid drills and donate them to the space, see how they fare against the Ryobis.
