I’ve got an engine that I need to do cylinder diameter measurements on before setting ring gaps on the new piston rings, which are based as a multiplier off the bore diameter. Do we have a bore gage in the tool chest? My suspicion is that I’ve seen one in there before, but I might have confused it with something else. Don’t want to drag the block over there for measurements without confirming this first. Thx.
Yes we have one in the black toolbox. I can’t say the dimensions it goes to though

There is a Linear Tape Measure in one of the drawers of the HAAS toolbox. It is in a round can about the size of a can of shoe polish. You can use this tape measure to find the outside diameter of the pistons. Wrap the metal tape around your piston and read the result like you would a mechanical micrometer. Now you can compare the size of the piston to the size of your cylinder bore.
