Bop It, Pull It, Twist It - How to Get DEAD Vehicles Up the Ramp

I have actually been thinking how to get a non running vehicle into the shop without a whole bunch of people pushing or getting a volunteer vehicle to push you in. (I’ve got a couple of trucks that eventually I’m going to have to rebuild the motors and transfer cases in)

My thought involves a winch and remote that could be controlled by the person and the driver seat piloting the vehicle in.

That would also involve a couple of holes being drilled in the concrete and some welding done for a movable winch mount…

Just another one of my crazy thoughts.

This has been kicked around here before… one example:

I’d like to see something like this Automotive PowerPusher™ - YouTube
While that particular tool requires 2 operators, it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to see ways to make it 1-person operable (making it “safe”, on the other hand…).

Might actually be fun to try and build something like that.

Think we could add hydro + wheel lift like this to such a thing?

then it could be a 1-person show…

nearly there…

Use the Force:

A winch could work but a cable under that much tension could do some real damage if it let loose. Would have to be some strict rules about anyone in the entire area around automotive while it was being used.
