Board Meeting Synopsis - May 17th

  1. Authorized purchase of NextEngine 3D Scanner HD, ScanStudio HD PRO, MultiDrive
  2. Authorized purchase of additional workshop fans (Side note, Infrastructure Committee requests that the garage door be left closed, AC in the workshop is not capable of cooling the parking lot)
  3. Allocated $1500 to Digital Media Committee for upgrading their workstation
  4. Authoirzed purchase of 2 Adobe Creative Cloud licenses
  5. Allocated $350 for the purchase of a vacuum cleaner
  6. Allocate $1500 to Automotive with the intention of improvements to the 240SX vehicle
  7. Purchase a year subscription of 5 licenses of lynda Pro for an estimated $1750 from General Fund and appoint Melissa Rhodes as caretaker of distribution of license seats. More information will be posted on this in another thread.
  8. Re-brand Biology Committee as Science Committee and Appoint Richard Alexander as Science Committee Chairperson
  9. Change committee reports to Monthly Membership Meeting, committees are urged to have at least one person present at the monthly meetings to present their report and answer questions from the general membership. Important issues that need to be brought to the board should be added as agenda items on the board meeting.
  10. Allocate $1100 to Logistics Committee to build out two workshop tables, likely a build-off will be done with two competing designs
  11. Buy a SawStop to replace the current Cabinet Saw
  12. Set up a monthly stipend to the Machine Shop Committee of $300 to help cover the costs of replacing worn and damaged tools and consumables
  13. Allocate $2380.66 to Crative Arts for the purpose of purchasing Jewelery Making equipment
  14. Removed the 15% fee for events charging entry/material fees. Use of the space is now free for all classes/workshops.
  15. Authorized $4175 for upgrade of electrical infrastructure
