Blink a LED class 6/19

In this class we will be learning basic electronics through blinking a LED from a Raspberry Pi Pico board. We will be soldering the headers onto the board, downloading software on your laptop, writing some simple code, setting up a circuit on a breadboard and then blinking a LED on that circuit. You will learn some basic electronics through this class. This will be part of a series to do more complex circuits and functions. No prior knowledge is necessary. Please bring a laptop computer and $15 cash for materials. Materials provided include a Raspberry Pi Pico board, headers, jumper cables, LEDs, a breadboard, etc.

I’m starting small with a class of 5 but if there is interest I’ll repeat or do a more intermediate class with sensor input and more complex output. Let me know any questions or suggestions!

Its awesome to see this class listed and your plan to follow up with with a series of more complex subjects! Students will find that if you can blink a little LED, you can do a bit of research and conquer the world with this fascinating little microcontroller board.

I’ve done a number of Arduino-ish classes before Covid and hope to start back in a month or so. I greatly encourage anyone interested in RPi, Arduino or just electronics magic to check out this class.

Looks like the class filled up quickly. Hopefully, you repeat because I am definitely interested.
