Blacksmith Introduction and Open Forge has been added to the calendar for 28 Jan 2018.
https://calendar.dallasmakerspace.org/events/view/4945
We will probably be making napkin rings as an intro project.
If you have blacksmithing experience, you can instead bring your own projects on which to work.
Since it is January and the weather can be unpredictable, we will be tracking the forecast and may reschedule for the following Sunday if cold and wet or cold and windy. If it’s just cold, we will still meet - you can bundle up and/or stand closer to the forge.
We will make a decision by the evening of the 26th in order to give plenty of notice should be choose to cancel.

We towed the trailer away Saturday just so you know

Well, that’s less than excellent timing.
Fortunately, my truck can easily haul the trailer back, assuming I can get access to it in a timely manner. I may plan to haul it back over on Friday morning (hoping that the parking lot will be empty-ish then).
Thanks for the heads-up.

Look, maybe we should buy some of these:
Traffice Safety cones
They could be put out a day or so ahead of time in spaces where we want kept clear with a sign specifying the time.

I already have some cones. I’ll try to bring them to help block off the blacksmithing area. I’ll also put a note on the back door in advance of the class warning folks that the area in front of the stairs will be in use on that Sunday morning.

That’ll be great. But we should probably have a set as many needs for other things.
Odds are that people will simply move the cones. I have seen it happen countless times as a county employee when trying to block things that people want to get to. or they will “not see them” and drive over them
Those folks can be dealt with thanks to video.

Heading out to the space - but need and extra water jug. The two in the car are ice cubes! The 50/50 mix is okay, just need some extra. Will splice the hoses when I get there.
