Blacksmithing in search of wooden stumps!

Blacksmithing is in search of 6 or stumps that are 24 inches tall and at least 12 inches in diameter. They should probably be some sort of hardwood.

Let me know if you have any questions.

If you can find a log i brought my large chainsaw and truck down. I would be happy to cut and haul them.

Hi Mitch,

I posted a question and a link to this thread on Frenchy’s Lawn & Tree’s Facebook page asking if they had some affordable sections. They are up in Denton.

I’d be willing to donate some cash to help and I have an F150 and can pick them up if needed.

In St louis I have several tree trimmers who would let me cut anything I wanted for free. They had to pay to dump it so If I took a few logs they were happy. I would bet it’s the same here. They may set aside the best stuff for sale but I would think we should be able to find a good hardwood log free. Sometimes you can drive around after a storm and load up.

We just pulled down a big oak at my parents place. There are 2 large sections that might be of interest. One of them is about 18x22 and about 16 inches high, the other is from further up so not as wide but may be slightly taller… It’s cut at an angle at the moment. If you want it, it needs to be picked up in Richardson… I can’t lift it into my jeep.

Edit: The one mentioned / measured above is the bottom one in the pic.
