Blacksmithing Classes

Have there been any thoughts on offering advanced blacksmithing classes? For instance , taking an old axe head and making a Viking type axe, or forging a knife from steel block, etc…

Not really, to be 100% honest. We have probably about a 10% return in students from class to class, if that. It takes a LOT of skill to do things like axes and knives and basically anything weaponry or Damascus. We would need months of the same return students to get to any of that level.

What we have considered, and done in the past, is intermediate classes where we make tools and such that the space needs, but we generally have low attendance due to the requirement that students for those had to attend previous classes.

I wonder if we could get say 5-10 committed students that would sign up and PAY upfront for an advanced class over a 6 month period or so?

Depending on costs I would be interested in learning to forge blades

I would be interesting as well
