Bicycle frame restoration - question

@jswilson64 Thank you for your advice! Having the bike shop pull it apart makes the most sense for my application.

Any bicycle shops that you’d recommend?

I haven’t been in a bike shop in years! I used to like RBM on Garland Road if they’re still around. Smaller and less “chain-y” than the mega store on Campbell.

I do almost all my own bike work, usually use Lakeside bikes in flower mound for parts and advice

@rlisbona Thanks for the recommendation, and if I get into more bike projects, I’ll have to invest in a nice set of tools!

@jswilson64 thank you again for more good advice!

Cheers!!

there is a silver / grey suitcase on the shelves near auto that should have the few specialized bike tools that do exist. specifically tire tube removal, truing spoke wrench, and hub wrench for axel rebuilds.

the rest is cake with common hand tools.

i do not know know very much about motorizing a bike so i’d be out of my league on that one.

on a related note. is the powder coating gun still onsite? I might try my luck with some other heating method.
