BGMicro - The other local electronics outlet

Many of us who are loyal Tanners fans also appreciate and support a lesser known electronics outlet in Garland. BGMicro does not have public shelves where you can see parts but it has a very interesting web site. While it is set up for internet orders, you can select Hold For Pickup and pick up your order at the shop near Kingsley and Jupiter a short while later. I don’t like a lot of email but theirs is always interesting and often includes a discount code for the entire order.

Billy Gage, the founder, passed away last Christmas Day. The family has discussed moving the business to Florida but while it may happen someday it will be for many months out if at all.

They are awesome and many times go in with Tanners to buy lots of surplus. At least in the past they have. The people at Tanner’s and the owners are friends from what I remember.

I was trying to find a page on the Wiki to add these guys to as a known good supplier and, to my surprise, there doesn’t seem to be a main Electronics or ELab page! @artg_dms, should we make one?

List of categorized pages:

Looks like those pages are badly out of date - and need to be deleted(?).

As for vendors… if you need old DIP ICs for fixing things from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, ping me.

I have a stash of 74, 74F, 74H, 74L, 74LS, and 74S ICs, sockets, old RAMs, bipolar PROMs, 6500/6800/8xxx/z80 family, etc. as I fix old computers, arcade game boards, and old game consoles (nothing newer than Sega Genesis there.)
