Best Way to Refinish These Shelves?

I have some shelves that I want to refinish. They appear to be stained and I have my own orbital sander I’ve been using to try and remove the finish so I can repaint them. It is taking a bit of time and so I wondered if any machines at DMS can help do this? I know there is a drum sander but I am not sure if any stained wood is allowed through them. What’s the best way to go about this if I were to bring them up there?

There’s a Stanley cabinet scraper in the wood shop annex. It would be ideal for this. Minimal loss of material and a smooth finish. If you haven’t used one YouTube a couple of videos for it. Good luck!
