They self rise but if you let it set at a higher temperature than recommended some bubbles will not have time to rise before it gets too thick. He did this in summer in a garage and it was over 100, they recommend 70 degrees.
For some reason it says 1.75 inches but I’ve seen and poured way thicker than that
