Hey guys,
It’s been a while since I bought Baltic Birch 3/4”. I think I bought it from the cowboy at Dakota.
Is there a place that gives DMS members a deal or has good prices?
Thanks,
Thomas

Central isn’t bad for quad-B. For B/BB (the nicer stuff) I’ve only found at Plywood Co of Fort Worth. Going there today or tomorrow in fact.
Regarding Baltic Birch prices: The standard imperial plywood sheet is 4 ft * 8 ft = 32 square feet. A standard Baltic Birch sheet is 1525 mm * 1525 mm = ~25 square feet.
I’ve bought both at Central Hardwoods and Hardwood Lumber. The imperial sheets have been double the price which makes the the metric sheets far less expensive per square foot.
The metric sheets fit in a standard pickup bed on top of the wheel wells.
Central Hardwoods will quote prices over the phone. I think Hardwood Lumber does as well.
Brazos Forest Products in Grand Prairie carries both trip and quad B material in 5x5. They tend to be priced lower on both grades than some others in the area. Availability at any of the sources varies these days. Call ahead to verify they have what you want before driving.
I bought 1/2" 5x5 from Dakota for $17 a couple of weeks ago. Central was selling it for $35, 3/4" 5x5 for $36
Dakota did not have 3/4" 5*5’ in stock.
1/4" 5x5 for $13
1/2" 4x8 for $36
3/4" 4x8 for $44
Guys,
Thank you for the responses!
Thanks,
Thomas
Lots of 5x5 18mm B/BB in stock at Fort Worth today. $47.50/sheet. That’s the stuff with one clear face with no patches.
Guys,
Central hardwoods was 3/4 4x8 bbbb for $53
Dakota 3/4 4x8 bbbb for $44.xx ; none in stock today 12/29
Brazos 3/4 4x8 bbbb for $50.32; plenty in stock.
To be clear because even the guy at Brazos had it wrong. B/BB is better than BB/BB.
B is a better face than BB. B has no patches. May or may not matter for your projects but for mine it does.
5x5’ 18mm B/BB at Brazos is $35.xx
Dakota was out of stock today so I’m headed to the plywood co. If some wants me to pick up a sheet or two I can handle that. I will meet at the space today to give them to you and will expect cash then.
Thanks,
Thomas
