Best antivirus program

My Norton antivirus just expired. I have been told that there are better and cheaper ones available.

What do y’all computer experts say?

Hubby does do some visiting porn sites

Thanks

I use avast! at home, and they also gave DMS free pro licenses… I would HIGHLY recommend it.

Webroot SecureAnywhere has served us well for several years.

Norton / Symantec are on our never-again list for many reasons. One of which is they don’t take their role seriously…

I too have been using Avast since a “Flash update spoof” got me last spring. Actually, I keep several around. I still do clean-up with free Malwarebytes to eliminate any “PUP’s” which my Avast Pro seems to miss. I suggest a multi-pronged approach to detection and removal. I did Kaspersky Pro for a year, OK. Avast was much more aggressive in it’s cleaning when I was in trouble. Now it’s more like a lazy cousin I regret hiring. It works, but I’m now back to using and suggesting a multi-pronged approach. Good luck & good hunting!

You mean besides Linux?

On Windows Vista and Windows 7 there’s this, free from Microsoft.

Windows 8 and Windows 10 have one installed by default from Microsoft. I’ve found the antivirus from Microsoft to be just as good as other commercial products if not better.

ditto. I’ve found less conflicts with Windows OS. Other programs may be a bit better, reviews I’ve read doing comparisons found all were good at some things and weak on others. The last program I had used I believe was Kaspersky (sp) - took forever to boot up.
