It’s not a 2 x 72, but it is a Foley-Belsaw belt grinder, and was only $47 with a box of belts at a local estate sale in Highland Village.
I think it will do for a starter.

well done . what size is the belt?? and what amperage is the motor??
1 x 44
5 amps, 1/4hp
Thanks!
The new grinding belts came in today and I found an Oregon brand 33" v-belt that I installed in place of the old rotted 34" one and It fit like a glove. I also installed new fender washers and lock washers on the motor mount frame bolts as the old washers were too small and were sliding into the slot on one side. I cleaned the idler and the shaft it rides on (brass bushing inside the idler) then oiled it. With the new belts installed I adjusted the top pulley for the belt to ride straight and centered.
I put a 60 grit belt on it and took the mushroomed pieces off the head of a star drill in less than 30 seconds, without pushing hard. This is going to be a damn nice tool addition!
I ended up getting the following belts:
I think that will be a good starter set of grits and belt types.
