Hello everybody!
I’m new to the makerspace, and I’m working on a project that involves cutting and engraving on the laser cutters. I took the online class and have my designs on adobe illustrator, but I’m still confused on some of the steps and the Lightburn software. Since it’s my first time laser cutting, I was wondering if anyone was free anytime this week to come to the makerspace and show me the ropes/ provide some guidance with the tool. Thank you very much!
IDK anything about Lightburn … but if you save your Illustrator file to the legacy CS6 format, then Thunder’s native RDWorks can import it directly. If you do this, make sure:
(1) your Illustrator file mode is RGB
(2) you use only vector colors that can be created with some combination of #FF and/or #00 (e.g., #FF0000, or #FFFF00, etc.)
(3) stroke your vectors with .001 inches. Anything larger and it thinks it’s a raster.
Hi! I plan to teach classes on using the Thunder lasers some time this month. If that doesn’t work for you, we can figure out our schedules. You can email me at [email protected]

Hello! When do you plan on teaching the class?
I’m interested in taking the class when you have one.
Is it possible to hold the class before June 22? I will be out of the state after that. Of course, if it is not possible, that is okay.
If you have a deadline and would like to schedule something one on one, please discuss it with me through email at [email protected].
