The earlier thread from @shoottx was getting a bit congested so I wanted to offer this example.
I came in this morning about 7’ish to prep materials for classes next week and found the Laguna bandsaw fairly well clogged with debris. That is the first picture.
After a few minutes of cleaning the cabinet I made roughly 50 cuts to break down rough logs.
The second picture is the cabinet AFTER the 50 odd cuts.
I’ve run through this exercise more than a dozen times in the year I’ve been a member with similar results.
The repeated, though subjective, results indicate to me that the dust collection whether Felder or the previous system do work WHEN USED.
It also tells me that we have a number of users not using dust collection/blast gate etiquette resulting in sub par cutting performance and reduced blade life from increased friction.
