Want to make a Bandsaw box? Great, a new class listing should be up this afternoon for a 3 part series on making one from start to finish. I did open the class to the public since that does help bring in prospective members, but I wanted to give a heads up to members on Talk first. There is a material fee of $20 for the class. Compare to WoodCrafts class of $95.
Here is a sample of what we will be making (not my work).

just curious since im in another class during part one will you be doing another set of these
Non members can use the band saws?
I would imagine that since the age requirements in the wiki states:
This would make it permissible. Plus, anyone who enters DMS still has to sign a waiver and with an instructor they would still be considered a “guest”. So I would think this would fall under responsibility of the instructor. Although you pose a curious question and hope a clarifying statement comes back soon.
Non-member and minors are two different issues. One must be a member to use the tools outside of a formal class. Non-member use is allowed within a class, but there may still be age restrictions. The teacher may restrict classes to members only by checking a box when setting up the class.

IQ4. May I include non-members in my class?
A. That’s up to you. However:
- It is customary to allow only members into the required safety / tool operations classes.
- If your class allows non-members, you are personally responsible for
- Letting those persons into the building; meeting them in the lobby, getting their waiver signed, and showing them to the classroom.
- Their behavior and actions while they are at the 'space

I should have specified, but all 3 classes need to be signed up before I will approve.
I have a couple of folks who only signed up for part 1 and I will notify them individually.
I hope you do this class again! I would have loved to join, but I couldn’t be here for the 1st class.
Just posting this as notice (class is still full), due to a scheduling conflict I had to move part 1 to Saturday at 10am. And yes, I had notified my students beforehand.
In general, I prefer to keep classes as avail as possible to non-members. So many people find us thru our calendar.
