Bandsaw blade break

Hey guys,
Came in to use the band saw and had the blade break. All I can think is there was a weak spot in the blade as it snapped is the blade channel on the left. Checked the six steps before cutting.

Here are some pics notice the bright spot where the blade broke.

Looks like the weld broke, put a tag on it and set it aside for credit from the supplier
