Automotive Orientation, Volunteer Opportunity!

Hey y’all!

I’m looking for a few folks who’d be interested in hosting automotive orientation classes. These classes are aimed at newcomers to the space/automotive committee. You’ll be provided a curriculum to teach with and I’ll get you spun up on the material/commonly asked questions.

The goal is to:
-Familiarize attendees with the tools and resources, as well as where to find them.
-Cover basic shop rules and etiquette.
-Answer questions attendees may have.
-Provide a friendly, inclusive and warm welcome to the area, regardless of prior experience or background.

Automotive lift training is not part of this course.

If you’d like to help with this project reach out to @Team_Automotive. Once I’ve got a few volunteers we’ll put together a time/day to get this spun up!

Thanks!

Edit to add: Teaching this class doesn’t require you to be a master mechanic, the biggest thing is to communicate the basics (which I’ll spin you up on) and to be a friendly face!

Interested as a very occasional user of Automotive.

If being a volunteer would mean that first youll guide me through things, and then I have to do the same for newcomers, then I am more than happy to help out.
