AURORA festival tonight 7pm-late @ Dallas Arts District

FYI… AURORA festival is tonight! Free to attend and full of arty/Makery fusions of light and music of all kinds.

This looks very interesting.

Free and awesome. It’s a must.

They had a 30 minute long infomercial about it. Most DMS types would probably be bored with video projections and bad LED art that they had last year. Maybe it is better this time. And I say that as a friend of Joshua King.

Example artists statement: As an artist, → Ange seek to express collective traumas and elations through a conceptual mise-en-scene. Ritual and isolation are important elements of the practice, as personal experience is the epicenter of the creative process and the unfolding subject of the image. Wordplay and language also play a role in her pieces, usually serving to highlight the humor or drama of a situation.

ZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz… … … …

It was great to see everyone out enjoying something from the city I saw a couple of Makerspace people out and about. I think it was worthy of time and attention. It’s an open call to Dallas (and nation wide) artists. A great stage for experimental ideas.
That being said I didn’t see a whole bunch that really knocked my socks off but I’m a bitter old art hag so don’t listen to me.

There didn’t seem to be as many art installations this year or as much going on as there was last time. It was still cool though.
