I’d like to use the bandsaw to cut this bar into 8" segments. I can use a regular bandsaw and would like assistance cutting this since I haven’t used this one before please.
Instructions would be fine, I’m at DMS all morning today. Thanks for the help!
If you can, find someone to use the cold cut saw or to teach you how to use it. This metal is perfect for it, and it cuts without any gouging or issue

If it is mild steel it can be cut on the Cold Cut saw … nice cuts. I’ll be at the space tonight will teach you and anyone else there how to use it. Around 8:00 will be giving tours, or at 5:30 before PR meeting.

Does the cold cut saw do mitered cuts? I need to cut some steel tube at a slight angle to make trapezoidal table legs.
The cold cut sounds better, I’d be happy to use that instead unfrtuately today I’m only here until about 1pm. If there is someone that can assist with the cold cut before then I would be grateful.
Twenty characters worth of yes.

+45 deg - - 45 degrees. No compound cuts.
So cutting at 87 or 86 degrees is no problem?
Measuring and setting it is the only issue.

Only if you have problems setting it. Not being flip.
What I suggest when training folks, if you need a precise angle:
- Get a piece of 2 x4 about 12" or longer.
- Using Wood Shop Miter Saw (this saw easier to set angles):
-
- Cut one end at 90 degrees,
-
- Then cut other end to angle you want.
- Put wood in vise and adjust blade as closely as possible with angle cut on 2 x 4
- Cut Metal
- When done, use the 90 degree end to reset the blade back to 90 degrees.

I’ll be at DMS tonight again assisting in a Leather class, so if anyone can show me, or do for me, cutting this on the cold cut saw that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
