Can someone confirm the size of our Ashford spinning wheel bobbins?
I think they come in regular or large/double size?
Our new spinner was asking if we can get some more bobbins for it, and I see several bobbin sizes in .stl files on thingiverse.

Ok, there’s like 9 bobbin sizes.
Ack.
I guess I need to figure out which model we have?
Is it safe to guess it’s the kiwi super flyer, as our spinning wheel has a kiwi on it?
They are the regular size. I have a 3d printed one on order to donate, its just taking a while to get thru their queue. We would need the jumbo flyer for the jumbo bobbins.
Having at least 2 extra bobbins for each wheel would be fantastic, though.
For now, wind the singles off onto the cardboard middle of a toilet/paper towel roll, or pvc pipe if planning to ply.
If not plying, there is a niddy noddy in the fiber cabinet and the woolery has an excellent tutorial online for how to use it. The blue box of memeber yarn has yarn that can be used to tie/secure the skein.
It does need to be skeined and have the twist set before it can be used for weaving, which I think was the intention.
Remember that if we provide the bobbins, they’ll need to stay at DMS. We might offer some for sale for people who want to take them home.
I don’t think that’s in the works at all, just wanting to be able to spin more in one sitting.
It should be. Not everyone is going to be able to finish up and take their yarn away in one sitting. Having bobbins for sale could allieviate that potential problem.
oh! good idea! I missed your point the first time!
