Architecting and Developing Android app Saturday Evening

Title says all. I’ll be starting the development of a somewhat simple app somewhere around 8:00pm and will be committed to it until about 2:00am. After that I will consider this project to be over regardless of completion.

The app is just a simple to-do list that prioritizes todo-items using an Operating System scheduling/prioritization algorithm.

If any of you want to dive into UI design, Graphic Design principles, learning the Android framework, or the data-structures/Algorithms I’ll be using, you can join the dev team for my “6 hour project”. If any of you are Android developers that already know this stuff, you may also join the dev team and network with other developers.

If you just want to hang out and ask about how the project is going, ask questions about xyz, you’re welcome to do that as well.

We can also fiddle around with the idea of setting up a DallasMakerSpace android developer account and publishing if our app is finished in time.

Why am I doing all of this?
This is something fun to do on Saturday evenings.
I want to get a pulse on how quickly I can develop an app like this.
I want to meet other developers at the space.
I want to see if my scheduling algorithm makes sense or works for automatically prioritizing to-do items.
I want to collect info about how I prioritize tasks.

I’ve used up all my alloted time away from the wife and at the Space this weekend already, but I am curious how this went.

Still here. I’m actually kind of drifting into experimenting with Material Design features and animations. I’m currently getting two halves of the screen to kind of fly off to the side to reveal a layer below it.
