Apply to be a DMS Officer

Hello everyone!

We are looking for officers. While you definitely have 5 committed directors of the organization, we can not do it alone and we need your help. We’ve standardized our descriptions so that you all have a better idea of what is involved with each position. Click here for those descriptions

Positions

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary
  • Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
  • Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Please email [email protected] with either your submission or questions.

Why should I be an officer?

  1. DMS relies on members to volunteer and run the organization. This allows all funds to go directly towards our guiding vision - to foster a vibrant Dallas maker community by sharing knowledge, tools, training, and having one of the largest maker spaces in the country. (TL;DR: Volunteer and more money can go towards cooler toys)
  2. Help those in need - enable those around you to be their best selves
  3. Enhance your resume - demonstrate and develop executive ability and leadership skills

Not sure you have the skills but are still interested in helping? Let us know! Officers have the ability to form working groups that work on their areas of DMS and will need your help.

All officers are enabled and bound by the Dallas Makerspace Officer Charter

Low priority
Meanwhile back in project storage…

I’ll take the opportunity to point out that if folks want project storage, that is under the purview of the COO. We need someone to step up to that position and create a tenable plan to reopen it.

Already serve in 2 positions.
How ever you’ve been recently freed up.
I say go for it.
Never ending entertainment. :grimacing: :scream:

No thank you. Would rather pull my own fingernails out than work with one of the board members.

What??? No public floggings till attitude improves?
One learns who to work with, those who stand in the way, and how work around those in the way.
Never ending school of hard knocks.
Lessons learned and not soon forgotten.

I’m already volunteering and am a key holder at Computer Reset.

Sooo…? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
