A friend of my wifes husband passed away. She has a stack of woodworking magazines and is looking to get rid of them. If there is any interest i will try to get more specifics.
Thanks.
Keith
The Freebie Shelf is an option.
Woodworking is one of the areas in which many of the skills and techniques do not go obsolete. Inspiration for projects even more so. Do not throw that treasure away.
Your friend passed away?
Or the husband of your wife’s friend passed away.
Gotta love the English language. But it beats the heck out of Deutsch (German), Japanese, Russian or Chinese…
The husband of my wife’s friend
Is how I interpret it.
I’ll certainly take some of them if they end up at DMS.
I will work on getting the magazines there next week. I have window installs at my house next week that I have to get the house ready. I will reply to this message when I plan to drop them off.
thanks
Keith
I look forward to checking these out and/or taking a couple. Has there ever been any thought about having a magazine stand in a common area or woodshop area that all members could have access to? What about scanning and digitizing the How-To pages, legality could be an issue though. It’s just a passing thought.
There was a magazine rack before the Common Room moved to 102. It was stocked with subscriptions by PR?
I do not recall it finding its way to the 102 location.
It’s still in the (new) Common Room. Art has been handling the stocking of magazines as they come in. This was done quietly enough that Burt thought he could swipe it for his new “Buy wood for laser projects” thing. The two (wood sheets and magazines) are currently co-existing.
To be fair to Burt, that is for everyone so that members have easy, quick, & affordable material options. It is also a temporary solution until the materials shop/shelving gets built. I feel your message has negative implications and I thought we are all trying to do better as members. Remember be excellent.
Bless your heart.
Thanks for being excellent and insulting me.
Thank you for the information.
Im picking them up on 30 minutes and plan to be at makerspace around 4:15. I will be in a toyota highlander and qill pull into the auto shop area to drop them off. Hopefully my access is still good as i havent been by in thenpast 6 months.
Thanks Keith
The magazines are now on the free stuff shelfs.
