Anyone have Scrap Oak I can use to grow Mushrooms?

I’m getting into mushroom cultivation and prepping for a class on mushroom growing

I’m trying to find a good source of cheap oak the best I’ve found so far is ($10/20lb)

https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/b-b-post-oak-smokehouse-20-lb-pellet-grill-fuel

I anyone has any oak scrap/unusable pieces I would be happy to take them to use for mushroom growing/Classes.

I’ve got a sawmill and have a ton of cutoffs if you want to come get some and are willing to process them down a bit. Also have sawdust if you prefer that as a growing medium. Free if you bring your own containers and load yourself.

Sorry for the super late reply, I’m just now seeing this.
How much do you have?
how much would you charge?
Roughly where is your sawmill located?

I have some live oak logs from a neighbors tree. 2 months since cutting’
I was going to cultivate some mushrooms but let the spore die.

what times are you be available?
Is it pure oak or a mix?

Sawdust is mixed. The wood is mixed as well but I can tell you what the oak is.

My availability is pretty open. Shoot me a PM to set up a time.

I should be teaching a mushroom growing class this or next month with the science committee
If you attend/stop by ill give you some Hericium erinaceus and or Pleurotus djamor grain spawn/liquid culture If you want. (for free or donate to the sci committee)

Ideally, you would want your logs to be fresh cut though, So your contamination risk will be higher.

Will do, Let me see when I can get up there and ill message you.

Thanks for your help
