Anyone available Wed 10pm to record gokart test?

I’m planning on being at DMS wednesday night(August 12th) and testing the gokart in max power mode, would anyone from digital media be around to take some video starting at ~10pm? Don’t we have some better than phone quality recording devices now?

DM does have a decent camera; however, they don’t have lighting. The problem with the time you selected is that it is dark. Even a pro camera is going to have a lousy quality in such dim lighting conditions.

If I may be nosey, how are we recording, for example, speeds on these runs? I believe you stated that you hit 31mph on the last one. Just curious how this was determined.
Also, should probably request someone from the safety committee and someone from the fire brigade be on standby…

Everyone is on the safety committee :smirk:

Running the Google My Tracks app on my phone to record GPS, at only 1 hz update it’s not a great solution, but its easy to use, the graphs only showed up to ~25 mph, but the stats said 31mph max, not sure which is correct.

Anyone know of a good data sampling phone app? Would like to strap my phone down and log some accelerometer data

Some of us have radar guns…

That brings up the question of how good a quality does he need?

Better alert the Fire Marshall, too. Just in case …

I have Harry’s LapTimer Grand Prix
I don’t know how well it would perform at slow speeds but it’s considered one of the best in full size racing.

Sorry. I meant “first aid”/“triage” committee…
or is that the same as the saftey committee…

Brandon I was planning on buying this I will just buy it now and have it available for this

It will be here Thursday and we can try it out.

I’ve got some obnoxious HID spotlights and LED flashlights that will totally make for an epic night action shot, assuming that at least one them one is on the vehicle at all times.

This is you going fast.

Again, I apologize I am late in responding. Been working on a big project, and have been out of pocket.

Currently, there are no members who have the bandwidth to work on recording projects. We have had to train members to record and generate their own content.

That being said’, I like that you posted this in talk. Perhaps someone from the project could record the video for you?

Also, Walter is correct. We do not have sufficient lighting available for members to properly light their projects. I have requested funds to get some studio and and field recording and lighting.

Thank you! Great post…

I can bring a GoPro if you want to give it another shot. I didn’t see this until today.
