Snopes states that is unsubstantiated. That being said, its a really good idea to never click any link sent to you from a stranger. It could be SPAM or a harmful virus. just block the sender, delete the message, and move on.
Most likely a virus or worm. Delete, do not click.
But Apple products are immune to viruses, yo!

That’s an atypical phishing attack on the surface. However the app is still on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co.irl.android&hl=en_US so its just usually a case of one needing to be smart with what they download and install.
