Any interest in a VERY basic Raspberry Pi 3 class?

Ok, it looks like we have plenty of interest in a basic RPi3 class.

When would you guys like to have a 1-1.5 hour class?

  • Weekday Day Class (between noon and 5)
  • Weekday Evening Class (between 7 and 10pm)
  • Weekend Day Class
  • Weekend Evening Class

Weekdays are great, just not Tuesday or Thursday nights. (my 2cents)
Thanks.

Wednesday evening would work great for me.

Seeing how I could very well railroad the topic with information overload I’ll abstain from attend the class but fully support its existence.

I’m confident you got this in the bag but if there’s any additional resources or help needed then I’d be glad to provide such.

I even think there’s a spare din rail in my inventory and thingiverse has some great din rail cases, cat5 holder and usb cable holders for printing in 3d fab.

@StanSimmons

Ditto. Just because you had the idea doesn’t mean you should take all of the work. If you need help let me know.

A little off topic, but this $9 gadget would do the trick I think.

Since ya’ll won’t attend … I will attend and ask all kinds of advanced questions …

Does SD card stand for Stupid Dumb Card?
If so, why then would you put it in a SmartPi case?
Does it contain Raspberries because I may be allergic?
I don’t speak Spanish, can I still use “Libre Office” ?

I wonder how well that would work with:

Like a smaller pi-seption version of the PiZero Cluster

Please let us know whenever it is scheduled on the calendar!

Stan,

I would be interested, also.
Thanks for offering to teach this class!
Just let me know when you’re going to setup an actual class date.

Tks,

Gary

I would also be interested in this class.

Count me in. I might bring one of my squids as well.

I’ve put the classes up for Wed July 18 and Sat July 21 at 7PM-9PM. They should appear on the calendar in 72 hours.

Wonderful!

I hope you consider one every two weeks for a while and then monthly as you catch up to demand. The RPi/Linux/LinuxApps field is in need of a number of classes. Your class is the foundation.

If these two go well, I’ll likely do alternating weeks with weekday class one week and weekend class the next week

Just curious, how long does it normally take a new class to show up in the calendar?

Honorarium classes always take 72 hours to get thru purgatory.

Non-honorarium classes and events take anywhere from 0 to 48 hours to get thru purgatory.

Thanks, appreciate the reminder.

It would be great of some of the members of @Team_vcc and even the Linux User group that meets at the space could put some of the basics up. Especially since I’ve been pulled in so many directions lately that I haven’t had a chance to put any of the usual Linux+ classes on the calendar.

I saw it on the Calendar. Just curious what the $5 charge is for?

Also wondering why Credit Card is the only payment option.
