For anyone who already knows or is interested in AnimeFest their membership price goes from $50 to $55 after today and will be $65 for the whole weekend at the door.
For anyone who isn’t familiar, AnimeFest is a local anime convention that is hosted in the Dallas Sheraton Hotel August 12-15 where people will go to workshops, cosplay, meet and mingle with other fans over the 4 day weekend. The thing that is most import for Makers to know is that there are some phenomenal creators among the guests this year and I just wanted to list a few.

Melissa Ng
Melissa Ng is a New York based artist who creates masks, armor and other wearable art through 3d printing. She’s won the Adobe & Shapeways 3D Printing Design Competition with her very first 3D print, helped design the aesthetics on a gorgeous 3D printed prosthetic leg, and created masks for a JiHAE / Leonard Cohen music video featuring The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus. She will be doing a panel at AnimeFest and will be bringing her latest creation a replication of the Sovereign Armor from Dragon Age pictured here.
AnimeFest is also bringing over 4 animators from Japan who have worked their way up from animators to leadership positions on major titles.
Chikashi Kubota
Named best animator by the Tokyo Anime Awards.He has served as chief animation director on One-punch man, animation director on Space Dandy and previously worked as an animator on Gurren Laggan.
