Accumulated location errors in finished part

Doesn’t your CAD program have an automatic conversion feature to switch back and forth?

Maybe? I’ve got to parse the enduring design file to an almost throwaway production file regardless.

Looks like the error measured along the x axis is about .219% (less than 1%) and the y axis is .118%, so scaling is giving me some problems. Autocad can probably scale at that precision, but Autosketch cannot (whole percentages only).

I’d recommend switching to lightburn instead of RDWorks, once you import the dxf it should be able to scale by that precision.

Well, I’ve successfully pioneered another method of locating these holes using a table saw, cardboard, a hand drill, and a drill guide. At this point, I’m going to be done with this project, having learned not to trust that the laser cutters are accurate over distance as I assumed. If anyone else wants to pick up the investigation, I would welcome the results.
