A tool I just found out about - looks tempting - Thoughts

This is a stamp maker. You heard me - stamps.
When I see stuff like this it seems pretty hot but I can’t imagine it being anything but a niche need for most so I felt it might be interesting to discuss.
The cost seems to be somewhere in the $8-10 a piece from what I understood on the reviews so consumable cost is somewhere around the moderate price. I could see this used in package designs and other things here. It looks small.

It’s called the Silhouette Mint

Here’s a video of it in action

Personally, when I need a stamp, I’ll just use the laser cutters.

Maybe I’ll get inspired, bring an adult beverage, get all the stamps we do have, I stamp images onto sheets, laminate, so folks can quickly look and see what’s there. If really inspired, mayne put on wiki. My SWAG is we’ve got close to 200.

It looks to me like the kind of thing some people would use once. Maybe twice.

They aren’t high usage now. I think that’s why they were donated! But people do do stamping, not much space, so it’s another offering…

Stamps are popular with scrap booking crowd (don’t think we have lots of that right now).

The other way I’ve seen an interesting use is as a repeatable resist application for acid etching metal. Other ways to do that as well. But it’s kinda cool. Not sure how much to would warrant return visits to make more.

In the past I’ve paid for a photo-ready stamp for a business thing. I might explore for the acid etching if it happened to be here. But I’m not sure it’d be a heavy-use thing. Especially the person above mentioning using laser…hmm…

I would use a stamp maker pretty frequently. I have only made a few up to now because lasering rubber is a hateful chore.

Crap. Now I keep thinking of things to make with it…

There is info on the Zing on Epilog’s website about using it to make stamps.

We have a lot of tools that would be suitable for paper crafting, but I don’t think we’ve really thought about identifying them that way.
