A chance to support some basic science research

This may well represent the ideal for what crowd funding can actually achieve. A research scientist is having trouble bridging the funding gap between initial research and enough evidence to justify clinical trials. If this research pans out it could provide a cure for many if not all viral illnesses. Things like the common cold and HIV. Even if it doesn’t pan out, it is likely a better use of the money then another cheap 3D printer…

I have a bad feeling about this one. I applaud using the methodology, but
I’m seeing very little in the way of publication. That doesn’t cost much,
even if it’s the same or similar paper it encourages peer review, which I’m
also seeing very little of, over 4 years.
