A brief reminder that polycarbonate is not for the laser

I saw the scraps of this project sitting sitting on the workbench without an owner.

Looks like some reminants of the melted poly on Blitzen, so if you wanted to see who did it.

I know for fact that this was brought in and machined not laser cut. The scrap was probably left for the taking since that is the norm. Assuming the melted plastic is actually from this poly, perhaps someone mistook it for acrylic which can be easy to do and attempted to laser cut it.

So that I can learn (and not being critical), I see that an interesting perimeter was profiled on the cutouts. How was it machined?

I believe it was machined on the Multicam, I think it was with a 1/4" endmill.

Very happy to hear that it was cut correctly. I saw the balling of the plastic and it looked like what I’ve seen laser cut lexan to look like.
