3D Scanner Cart with Monitor and USB Hub Taken Apart!

:rage:This is one of those WTF! issues.:rage:
I come into the Digital Media room and find the 3D Scanner Cart with the dedicated computer and monitor PARTED OUT.
BTW, I recovered the monitor. It works just fine. Before you part out the 3D scanner setup, check to see if the computer is locked in dual monitor mode. Maybe thatā€™s why you thought (if you were thinking) the monitor and computer were toast. Basic windows knowledge would have allowed you to diagnose this elementary school problem. I would like the USB hub returned ASAP. It was used to help students and users use this equipment. Next time ask before you destroy.

This is a piece of equipment that no-one was using until I put the cart together and figured out how to use the scanner successfully.
I had been teaching the class weekly last year to great success and the scanner was being used regularly by others because they knew how to use it.
So what is up with the total lack of respect? To remove the monitor and then PUT in on the donation shelf. Yes, thatā€™s where I found it. I have not found the usb hub that was attached.
I had been maintaining it weekly so that others could enjoy it and use it for their projects.
Why would some individual disconnect the monitor from the 3D scanner cart and then move it to the Donation shelf? It was a perfectly good monitor. It was being used regularly by many people and for the class I was teaching.
The only thing I can think of that would motivate someone to part out a piece of equipment that was being used regularly and then put on the the donation shelf, is thievery. 'Oh look, a monitor on the donation shelf, I could use that." The USB hub, that was double sided sticky taped to the cart of the 3D scanner, is gone. Thievery. The other USB hub that was in the digital media room and was being used is gone. Thievery.
OK, so maybe at best this was just a big mistake by someone and their motivation was not to steal from the members of the DMS. For sure, absolutely, this was an individual who has no regard for the other members, has no respect for the work and time that others put in to make this place better for others. This is a person who doesnā€™t even have the decency to ask around to see if someone or many people are using this 3D scanner with itā€™s monitor, with itā€™s USB hub and the convenience that it is all put together on one cart.
Iā€™m looking at the 3D scanner and the cart right now and itā€™s all torn up. Iā€™ll have to put it all back together before I teach my next class this Sunday. This is totally unacceptable.:rage:
Maybe their motivation was that they just donā€™t want anyone using the 3D scanner anymore or teaching the class. Sounds selfish and self serving.
Shame on you, whoever you are for doing this. You are not an asset to the DMS community.

Kee,

If you can give me the last time and date that you saw it with the monitor intact, Iā€™ll look thru the cameras.

The monitor you got off of the donation shelf today was not the original monitor on the scanner cart. It was brought in today by a member, which I verified on the cameras.

I donā€™t know if I can help with when I saw it last. I taught the class about three weeks ago and was away until last week. I hadnā€™t been in the Media room to use the scanner since then. I happened to be in tonight chatting with someone and noticed it had been parted out. The individual I was chatting with noticed it was missing yesterday when I asked them. They are a regular user of the room and would have noticed it missing. But I cannot confirm an exact date or time. Iā€™ll ask them the next time I seem them if they can remember exactly when it disappeared and Iā€™ll let you know. I also noticed the donation box in front of the Digital Media room was missing as well. Peeled off the wall just like the USB hub was peeled of the cart. None of this was looking good when I put it all together.
The only reason I thought that the monitor was the one from the 3D scanner was that it had a unique stand that could slide up and down easily. The one on the donation shelf had the same type of stand. Could it be a different monitor? Sure. My adrenaline was boiling at the mess and it seemed like the same one. I could be wrong.
Could this just be a big misunderstanding? Sure. But a monitor missing, a usb hub peeled of the cart and unplugged and a donation box missing. Doesnā€™t look like a misunderstanding to me.
If you are going to check the vids, check from yesterday morning. Check the vids for the Donation Box, if it appears in the video or not. There may be a connection.

@fedakkee I took out the trash in front of digital media, this Sunday (1/16) and found an empty donation box inside. Iā€™m not sure how it got in there but thought that whoever was in charge of it didnā€™t need it anymore.

I believe that Brooks took the donation box off the wall. I can not confirm as I did not directly see him do so. But I did help him unlock it as they were taking care of finances. @bscharff & @lukeiamyourfather

Please correct me if Iā€™m wrong.
