3D Printer for Elementary School

looking for suggestions…

My sister up in Oklahoma is an elementary school teacher. She is a driving force behind getting technology into her school and has just recently received a (small) grant for getting a 3d printer.

Are any sub-$1000 models anyone could suggest?

I have one at home, but I’m pretty sure she’s not up to a diy kit.

This is number one on my list in that price range.

There are better printers and there are cheaper printers but there’s not a better cheaper printer in my opinion.

I taught Elementary for years and now am a high school teacher. We have had some pretty fancy printers, however, the ones that get the most use are the Flashforge FInders. They are $299 on Amazon and are extremely easy to use. They are knockoffs of the Makerbot Mini’s. No heated platform so you use PLA, but, in our classroom I was always concerned about the smell when we use an ABS printer. I preferred PLA for a classroom. The build is 5.5" cubed which is perfect for 98% of the models we needed. They rarely jam, and the adjustable base lets you print without rafts (which is an upgrade over the makerbot mini we have). I highly recommend one, or a couple, of the Flashforge Finders.
