Is there anyway to enable my 3D mouse for use in solidworks via the JUMP server? I haven’t had any luck getting it to work in the remote environement. It’s a 3D connexion cad mouse
We had to remove the drivers for it recently due to conflicts. Sorry.
Ok, good to know. Is there a chance of that being operational sometime in the future, or are they gone for good?
As it is, they are gone… If the situation changes in the future, we’ll update this thread. Thanks for your understanding.
That’s a big hit to the usefulness of any 3D CAD on the jumpserver. If anything can be done to restore that functionality it would be greatly appreciated.
I think we have access to non-commercial licenses for SolidWorks for members. Or at least we did at one point. Does anyone know the status of this? That way you could use your local drivers and a local install if the non-commercial limitation is sufficient for your uses.
The sole reason I’d need to use the jump server is to get access to the full versions.
Local solutions I can handle. Thanks though.
I should add that I have no urgent need to use that capability. Just surprised there was a problem with it. I think it got installed after I asked Brian to do so once I’d taken the HAAS class.
Once you get used to a 3D mouse, it’s very hard to revert to not having one.
Meh, it was useful in some situations but the driver situation was a shitshow (assuming you’re talking about 3Dconnexion). If there’s something better out there now I might try it again.
That’s the one I use. Locally it’s rock solid. New programs sometimes need a hand with setup. Most just work.
It was 3Dconnexion that had to be uninstalled. If we can get it reinstalled in the future, we will let you know.
