ok… the stool keeps moving that’s got to be a stack pointer. So that means the tiles on the floor are the discrete cells.

Maybe the table and chairs are positional markers for the tape? Oh… and if its near the door its a ‘0’ and away from the door its a ‘1’… if that’s the case there’s 8 bit encoding and the chair does fit as a sort of optcode/marker.
