2019 BoD Election (5/10/2019), Statements of Intent

@Team_Moderators can this be pinned so there is a quick way to locate the statements for this year’s election?

Looking at the Statements of Intent page today (3/20/19) I see only two statements, and neither are from sitting Board members. Am I right in reading this: less than four weeks from the election date (15 April) none of the current Board members have announced their intent to stand for election this year and that only two others have done so?

Or, are the Statements of Intent uploaded somewhere on the Wiki but are not showing up on the Category page because they were not properly categorized?

Other than the two there, has anyone else announced their intent to run (or to step down) in 2019, even if their official Statements of Intent haven’t been published?

Yes, only 2 so far.

12 days until the online voting cutoff

Given our history, it seems the normal is to dribble in statements of intent right up until the end.

I wonder if I qualify as member in good standing?!

Yup. Week before the deadline the bench will start to flesh out.

Statement of intent filed. I created and paid for a new account, jmharris42, and should I be allowed to run I am willing to pay $60/month as a Regular Member. My interpretation of the following rule is that @StanSimmons and @Diplomat now have a decision to make.

Voting Rights

  1. All members start off as Supporting Members, with no voting rights.[5]
  2. A Supporting Member must have been a member for the immediate past 90 days to become a Regular Member. Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis jointly by the Infrastructure and Finance Chairs.
  3. A member’s application to change from Supporting Member to Regular Member must be submitted:
  4. Thru the DMS Voting Registration site at https://votingrights.dallasmakerspace.org allowing you to add or remove your own voting rights
  5. Via email to [email protected] from the email address registered on their account,
  6. Thru other electronic registration approved by the Board of Directors.
  7. Rights will be effective upon receipt of the e-mail or electronic registration.
  8. Members added via the Family rate will not be allowed voting rights.

Julie,
I feel that you have met both the spirit and the letter of the rules because you have been a family member add-on since 07/08/2016.

I’ve added your new account to voting members. I’ve also moved your RFID and AD credentials to the new account.

As Acting Treasurer, you have my approval. As well.

Congratulations.

Thank you Stan and Steve. I am grateful for the opportunity to run and if I am elected I will serve to the best of my ability.

Well I have submitted my statement of intent. Hope you will support me in a second term as a board member. I think this term may be very much harder than my initial participation in 2016 but I’m up for the task. Thank You!
