My brother-in-law is having a hard time locating this:
Input shaft for an NV3550 transmission for a 2000 Jeep Wrangler, Sahara, 4.0L.
These particular transmissions were apparently only made for two years before changing the gearing ratio.
Any suggestion where to get? Thanks
The NV3550 is this really rare limited-production revision to the NV3500, with a removable bellhousing. NV3500s are pretty common, having been used in everything from Dakotas to Ram 2500s, but I don’t believe they share an input shaft with the 3550 unfortunately. All that said, I believe the 3550 shares the common NP-J transfer case mounting flange, which, if true, should make it very straightforward to just swap in an AX-15 from an earlier TJ, XJ, or YJ.
Would be cheaper, in any case.
