Voting Rights... Please don't wait until the last minute to request change in status!

If Stan’s low on free time, I’ll volunteer to take a crack at it.
and here’s my famous last words: It Shouldn’t Be Too Much Trouble ™.

I’m not low on free time so much as low on programming experience in this century.

I would welcome some help with an app for voting rights lookup, etc. Come get me the next time we are both at the space and we can work on it together.

I’ve got a little setup where people can check their individual voting rights and Active Directory information for machine authorizations, etc. It will be roaming around the makerspace for a while, and is currently in beta.

The RFID Member Info Portal will be sitting in the white cabinets in the Main Room.

There are currently 121 members that have requested voting rights this year. If you plan on voting for BoD next month, please request your voting rights soon.

Thanks for the reminder!

…and by “soon”, that would be before April 15th at 12:00 Noon if you plan to vote using the online voting option.

We are coming up on the last week to get voting rights.

Please follow the rules here: https://dallasmakerspace.org/wiki/Rules_and_Policies#Voting_Rights to get your voting rights.

We currently have 140 members who have requested voting rights.

And three declared candidates standing for the board: https://talk.dallasmakerspace.org/t/statements-of-intent-wiki-short-cut-to-candidates/18855.

And yes - you have to request voting rights annually, so even if you had them for the last election, you need to request them again if you haven’t already done so.

Edit: Yep - I know Stan knows this. He just drew the short straw of getting the reply.

Update for those interested: Mitch Cerroni and Robert Davidson have added statements of intent to wiki.

Tomorrow night at midnight is the deadline to get registered for online voting.

My understanding is the deadline for in person voting is when the 4/23 Annual Meeting starts at 4PM. https://calendar.dallasmakerspace.org/events/view/2008

Please follow the rules here: https://dallasmakerspace.org/wiki/Rules_and_Policies#Voting_Rights to get your voting rights.

We currently have 166 members who have requested voting rights.

Are there instructions yet for the online voting ?

I am fairly sure I requested mine, can someone double check

Thanks

There is a tablet on the shelf outside of the Digital Media room. Scan your badge and check for yourself.

Thanks, I do that, Bambi, Minnie Mouse, Uncle Scrooge

I took a quick look out on the jump server for you…you do have voting rights permissions set (anyone with access to jump server can check this for themselves, BTW). Feel free to double check via badge/fob scan, though

There are, thanks for asking!

We are using an online system called SimplyVoting.com

The How It Works is here. If you click the home button you will see the list of candidates and the login.

The system is in preview mode until online elections open today at 7pm. The online portion will run until 4/23 at Noon.

The deadline to request voting rights is today 4/15 at Noon.

Should that be working in preview mode?
Is that simply our dms.local active directory credentials, or something otherwise?
