I heard DMS getting promoted on the radio this morning

Driving to work this morning I was listening to Kidd Kraddick in the Morning radio show 106.7 and Michael Messer was on the air promoting his Kickstarter campaign for the Simple Stir fabricated at the DMS.

Good job Michael. Here is his Kickstarter campaign.

Thanks for the heads up Travis! I just pledged! Good luck Mike.

I think we need a dedicated forum for projects from DMS that are trying to gather crowd funding.

I had know clue this was happening.

Xespia, great idea! But I’d like to see such a forum dedicated to showcasing completed projects of any kind that makers want to display, or inform us about, or just brag on. (ideally >not< works in progress, as some inevitably end up sitting on shelves for rest of lives). But the Kick-starter ones are an ideal example of the good this type of forum could provide.

Yep. Surprised me too. Even though it’s mentioned in the new member 411. https://dallasmakerspace.org/wiki/New_Member_411#What_is_an_account_on_dallasmakerspace.org_used_for.3F

Discussed in this thread:

Technically, we have a blog. In reality, only the last two posts were made in the last year.

Which is why we should be dragging it into daylight more often, in my opinion…
It seems perfect for the very mentions in this thread. Nothing, however, prevents cross-posting onto other blogs, forums, editorials, articles, etc. in addition.

My thoughts exactly!

I know we have a Public Relations Committee, when do they meet and how can I get involved?

Today at 4PM we have a meeting, it will be focused on the Open House happening on Sept. 12th.

Great! I’ll cancel my plans and drop in? If it’s ok. Also what room and how long?

Anyone is welcome to come out and help. it usually happens in the meeting room next to the main room. We hope to keep it around 1 hour, but that depends on what gets discussed.

Hope to see you there.

Count me in! Hope I can be of service.

Hey! Thank you to everyone who is excited about this project. I’ve worked really hard redesigning and making his prototypes and it means a lot to me that you guys are supporting the project.

I hope this can get a vinyl sticker on the kickstarter wall of fame when it’s successful.
