Digital compositing elements. Capturing a real muzzle flash, or explosion on your soundstage (or the streets of Dallas) tend to be difficult, if not extraordinarily illegal.
As a former video editor and a bit of a digital hoarder, I’m fairly certain that on some random drive i’ve got lots of these tucked away.
