Any knife handle / scale makers out there?

I am interested in seeing if there are other DMS members who have made (or are interested in making) stabilized knife scales (handles) using resin and a vacuum process to stabilize the handle material (essentially making micarta handles, but with a variety of materials like reclaimed wood, dried cactus stalks, pine cones, etc.).

Not sure what tools, vacuum devices, etc. may currently exist at the DMS for this intended purpose.

Look up cactus juice and you will find systems for doing this. A chamber could be easily made at dms. We had a vacuum pot in CA but I think making one specific for scales would make it easier.
