I would love to see Makerspace get a machine like this for the plastic or woodworking areas.
yeah, me too. only downside is it uses Mach 3 with the parallel port. Anybody remember those? And no - you can’t use a USB to parallel converter with mach 3. It expects more than just the built in OS services for printing. It actually makes use of the interrupts so you need a special cable.
Or an old assed PC with a built-in parallel port on the motherboard
ah I remember using Mach 3 as a kid on my first machines.
we actually have those parallel adapters on hand that function, but I really don’t want to deal with Mach again if I can avoid it ha!
